Robert N. Stavins

Robert N. Stavins is the Albert Professor of Business and Government and chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He is also a university fellow of Resources for the Future, chairman of the Environmental Economics Advisory Committee of the Environmental Protection Agency's Science Advisory Board, and a member of the EPA's Clean Air Act Advisory Committee and of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. His research has appeared in several scholarly publications including the American Economic Review, the Journal of Economic Literature, and the Ecology Law Quarterly. His research interests include technological innovation, environmental benefit valuation, and the estimation of carbon sequestration costs. Mr. Stavins works closely with public officials on matters of national and international environmental policy and has had extensive consulting experience with members of Congress, the World Bank, the United Nations, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and state and national governments.
