Agenda The Privacy DebateMay 10, 1999 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Rayburn House Office Building The easy transmission of personal records on the Internet generates tremendous concern for privacy. Congress now is considering proposals to enhance privacy protections for medical and financial information. The Clinton administration, meanwhile, is attempting to avert a trade war with Europe over privacy protections in the wake of the European Union's Privacy Directive, which could prohibit the transfer of some information to the United States. The AEI-Brookings Joint Center for Regulatory Studies invites you to attend and participate in an informed discussion of these issues.
