Agenda The Environment: Getting Better, Not Worse October 3, 2001 10:00 a.m.-Noon Wohlstetter Conference Center, Twelfth Floor, AEI 1150 Seventeenth Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036
Many environmentalists claim that natural resources are running out, species are being driven to extinction at alarming rates, and, in general, that the state of the environment is spiraling out of control––but are these claims true? Not according to Bjorn Lomborg, a professor of statistics and former member of Greenpeace. Dr. Lomborg challenges these claims in his new book, The Skeptical Environmentalist, which has been hailed as "a triumph" by The Economist. He argues that the world's environment is rapidly improving and that the Kyoto Protocol on global warming is misguided.
