Financial Privacy Symposium January 8, 2003 9:00--3:30 p.m. Wohlstetter Conference Center, AEI 1150 Seventeenth St., NW The Fair Credit Reporting Act is set for reauthorization and it is widely expected that the question of continued federal preemption of state law governing credit bureaus will be a major subject of debate, along with possible privacy measures associated with any renewal of preemption. More broadly, Congress may also reconsider the financial privacy provisions of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999, as well as broader privacy initiatives outside the financial arena. The AEI-Brookings Joint Center presents an off-the-record symposium to generate discussion of financial privacy policy.
